It's a fact that more and more people are expanding their range of palate stimulation, and while they haven't done so yet, they're starting to become more receptive to spiciness. However, we still have many unresolved questions that I will try to put into a friendly and accessible language for those who are not experts in the field.
What is spicy? Actually, the term "spicy" comes from the bird's beak. A bird doesn't bite you, it stings you. We've extrapolated that, so, gastronomically speaking, spicy is anything that causes burning or itching in your mouth.
How many types of spicy food are there? We could categorize it into four types, though not all of them are strictly "spicy," but we could say that the average person says it's spicy:
-
Fruits: Chile
-
Plants: Onion, Garlic
-
Roots: Ginger, Wasabi, Horseradish
-
Seeds: Pepper
At PepeOil & Salsas, we exclusively use the heat from chili peppers, chili peppers, and hot peppers, which is where our products are sourced. The unique feature of our products is that with just a drop, you can taste authentic, fresh chili in your mouth.
For PEPEOIL products, we strictly use chili peppers. We currently have more than 15 types on the farm, but we mostly use two. Ghost Pepper, our flagship pepper, comes in both green and ripe varieties, and Habanero, which we use in red, green, yellow, and chocolate.

At Pepeoil, we use chiles in all their forms: green, ripe, dried, fermented. In an oil base, with vinegar, or the pure essence of the ferment with its most intense and pure flavor.
PEPEBASCOS. Fresh salsas. Pure fresh chili in your mouth, with all its nuances and flavors.

PEPEOIL . Organic extra virgin olive oil macerated in dry Ghost Pepper. Flavors: smoky, Mediterranean, Asian, or milder nuances like chipotle.

PEPACHA. Original recipe for Thai Sriracha. Instead of using a Thai chili, we use the green or red Ghost Pepper, and now a new pepacha with Habanero. An intense, fermented flavor like you've never tasted before. The spiciness in its extreme purity fueled by a deep flavor, in the greens and yellows, fruity and herbaceous tones. A unique sensation not suitable for every palate, as these are the hottest products in the pepeoil range.

Each product has a use, a signature dish, a perfect pairing. Little by little, we'll show you how to savor them and how to get the most out of them.
See you next time!
